Getting started the process of decrypting ransomware encrypted files begins with discovering what ransomware has encrypted them since various ransomware types employ varying encryption techniques and a decryption tool that works for one ransomware will not necessarily work for another. Devices that have been infected should be disconnected from all networks and the encrypted files should be retained instead of being deleted.
